Iran’s foreign minister has urged the global community and the united nations to take immediate action to support the Palestinian people in the face of Israel’s acts of aggression.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the call in a letter to UN chief Antonio Guterres, head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and foreign ministers of Islamic countries. He expressed deep concern over the recent developments in the occupied territories, including desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces and settlers. Iran's top diplomat said silence of some governments and international organizations has embolden the apartheid Israeli regime to intensify its inhumane acts and violate human rights of Palestinians. The Iranian minister said lasting and fair peace in Palestine is only possible through a complete end to occupation and return of all refugees to their homeland. He added that the future of Palestine must be decided through a referendum attended by all the original residents of the occupied territories.
