The North Korean leader says his country could preemptively use nuclear weapons to counter hostile forces and maintain what he calls the absolute superiority of its armed forces.
Kim Jong-Un says Pyongyang should continue to build up its arsenal to have the overwhelming military muscle which no one can provoke. He says, that’s the lifeline guaranteeing North Korea’s security. Kim was meeting with the top military brass. Earlier this week, North Korea held a parade to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of its armed forces. The parade also featured the country’s latest intercontinental ballistic missiles. On that occasion too, Kim vowed to accelerate the development of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. The country has progressed its nuclear and missile program despite US pressure over the past years. Talks between the two sides have failed to resolve their differences.
