A Palestinian detainee, held in an Israeli jail without charge, has ended his hunger strike after the regime gave him a verbal promise of release. The Palestinian Commission for Prisoner’s Affairs says Israeli authorities have not specified when Khalil Awawdeh is going to be freed. 40-year-old Awawdeh was refusing food for one-hundred-eleven days in protest at his illegal detention. His life was said to be at risk due to his deteriorating health conditions. Israel is holding some 600 Palestinians in different jails without charge or trial under its so-called administrative detention policy. Many of these inmates suffer from critical health problems as they’re denied access to basic medical services.
