Press TV's Spotlight - Iran riots

PressTV 22 views

A 22-year-old Iranian woman named Mahsa Amini died in police custody. The incident prompted some Iranians to pour into the streets with calls for justice. Peaceful, legitimate protests were soon hijacked by hoodlums and troublemakers so that public property was damaged, ambulances were torched, women with hijab were attacked, and some police forces were stabbed by rioters.

In this edition of the Spotlight, Press TV and panelists Firas al-Najim, manager of the Canadian Defenders for Human Rights from Toronto and Elijah Magnier, journalist and political analyst from Marseille look at these protests closely, double standards applied by the western countries for encouraging these riots to continue, like the US, where people are killed by police on a daily basis.
