Iran’s ambassador to the UK has warned that the Islamic Republic would respond to any threats against its oil tankers at international waters.

In a tweet, Hamid Baeidinejad, said he sent a letter to the International Maritime Organization, expressing deep concern over endangering the safety of international navigation. Baeidinejad added that the U-S would bear responsibility for any consequences if it takes any action against the tankers. Earlier, Iran’s defense minister warned the U-S of a firm response if it continues to harass the country’s ships and oil tankers in international waters. Brigadier General Amir Hatami described U-S acts of harassment at high seas as piracy. Meanwhile, Venezuela said its military would escort Iranian tankers delivering fuel as soon as they enter the South American country’s exclusive economic zone.
