Major Silicon Valley companies, Facebook, YouTube and Zoom have blocked a webinar featuring a top Palestinian activist and a resistance icon.

Leila Khaled, who is also a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was due to make a speech through the webinar at San Francisco State University. However, Zoom, which is a web-based videoconferencing platform, prohibited the university from using its software to host the event. The event was being streamed Wednesday on YouTube but shortly after it began, the company cut off the stream, citing violation of YouTube’s terms of service. The event was also blocked by Facebook. Palestinians say the event was cancelled due to pressure from the Israeli regime and Zionist lobbying groups.
