The United Nations has warned of possible war crimes in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, as fighting rages on between government forces and troops loyal to the region’s ruling party. Colville was referring to Amnesty International’s report of a massacre on Monday which the rights body said was unclear who was behind the gruesome murders. The UN official also warned that the conflict could spiral out of control. Fighting between government forces and troops loyal to Tigray People's Liberation Front broke out last week. The conflict has killed hundreds of people and forced thousands of other to flee. A large number of refugees have already crossed the border into neighboring Sudan.
