UN human rights experts have expressed deep concern over the lack of accountability for the killing of Palestinian children by Israeli forces in recent years. According to the UN experts, civil society organizations have documented the deaths of 155 Palestinian children since 2013. Those children were killed by Israeli forces using live ammunition or crowd-control weapons. The UN experts said only three indictments on criminal charges had been issued for offenses directly tied to those killings. They also referred to the killing of a Palestinian teenager in the occupied West Bank earlier this month. The UN experts called the murder a grave violation of international law, and urged an independent investigation. The teenager was shot by an Israeli soldier during a protest against a settlement outpost. He later died of his wounds.
