Blinken: China acts repressively at home, abroad

PressTV 60 views

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has accused China of acting more repressively at home and abroad over the last several years. In an interview with CBS News, Blinken also blamed China for challenging the world order using its military, economic and diplomatic capacities. The top US diplomat, however, rejected any military confrontation with Beijing, saying even to head in that direction is against the interest of both countries. The comments came days after President Joe Biden, in his first address to Congress, underscored that he is not seeking conflict with Beijing. He identified competition with China as his administration's greatest foreign policy challenge. Biden also pledged to maintain a strong military presence in the Indo-Pacific and boost technological development. The two top economies are at odds on a host of bilateral and international issues.
