NATO’s secretary-general says the alliance should forge a stronger common policy toward what he called an increasingly dominant China.

Jens Stoltenberg said China has the biggest navy and is investing massively in new military equipment, adding that those issues affect our security. His remarks come as the G7 summit, held in the UK, also took a stronger collective stance toward China, calling on Beijing to respect human rights and allow freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. Beijing hit back at the Group of Seven leaders, saying the days when small groups of nations decided the fate of the world were long gone.
