The Iranian president says the US should be held accountable for supporting the Daesh terror group as well as new forms of terrorism. In a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Ebrahim Raeisi stated that Daesh was created and is backed by Washington. Raeisi decried the policy adopted by some countries that categorize terrorism into good and bad. He added that Iran condemns terror in any shape or form and makes no distinction between terrorist groups. The Iranian president further underlined that the United States and NATO’s policy of military intervention in Afghanistan was a failure. He stressed that everyone should help establish an all-inclusive government in Kabul which brings together all Afghan groups. Macron in turn said his country stands ready to open a new chapter in its relations with Iran.
