Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi has called for the expansion of ties between Tehran and Caracas. In a phone conversation with president Maduro, Raeisi said the two countries should increase their economic relations and trade volume. He also called for greater oil cooperation between the two countries. The president believes the two countries need to take greater steps in refining and petrochemical fields. He also slammed Washington’s sanctions on Caracas. Maduro hailed Iran’s support for the Venezuelan people and hoped that Tehran and Caracas would sign new cooperation agreements.
